We have been making salsa for over 40 years! We first started out making it only for family and friends, then moved on to church bazars and other events. Over the years, it was not uncommon to hear; “You really need to market this stuff. It is so good!  I know people would buy it and love it!”

It was very frequent, in fact.  We finally took the hint.  In 2009, we got serious about sharing our salsa with more than our social circle. With salsa in hand, we went to some local businesses that we believed would be interested in our unique product. Lo and behold, we were immediately accepted by our friend, Barb Bauman at Bauman’s Farms in Gervais, then Lamb’s Thriftway stores in Portland, Roth’s stores in Salem…then on to Eugene and Vancouver…etc. (see list of stores).  Through the help of loyal friends and caring employees, we’ve done demonstrations to get the taste out there and we have been growing ever since.

The name, It’s The Famous! isn’t just a phrase but is a family tradition! It came from many years of creating and tasting family recipes. If they tasted really great, we would say: “Yup, it’s the Famous!”.  If the final product of a family recipe didn’t meet our standards, we would say: “Well, it’s okay, but it’s not the Famous!”.  So, when it came to naming our delicious salsa, it had to be It’s The Famous!.
